Turn off checking of the drive every 30 boot ups:
sudo tune2fs -c 0 /dev/sda1

Pidgin sending custom emoticons

If you want Pidgin to send custom emoticons you need to apply a patch as its out of tree at the moment.

A source file created by my friend Twain28 is here:
